Veteran Defender Sergio Ramos Makes a Spectacular Debut at Rayados

Sergio Ramos is back on the pitch, making his debut with the Mexican side Rayados de Monterrey and leading the team to a triumphant 3-1 victory at home.

The veteran defender played his first match for Rayados during the Liga MX Clausura on matchday eight against Atlético de San Luis.

After the game, the former Real Madrid star took a moment to address the supporters at Estadio BBVA.

“Thank you to all the fans. We hope to have many more nights like this. It’s incredibly exciting to be back on the field and to win. We are grateful for all the love from the fans, who deserve to celebrate many victories this year. It wasn’t an easy game from start to finish, and the Mexican league demands a high level of concentration. We need to keep growing as a team and continue improving. We must build confidence and maintain a positive state of mind to tackle all the challenges ahead of us,” he stated.

The 38-year-old played 80 minutes before being substituted by Antonio Leone.

During the match, the Camas native completed 93% of his passes, won all of his duels, recovered the ball seven times, and came close to scoring in the blue and white jersey.

The home side emerged as 3-1 winners, moving Rayados to ninth place in the table.
