Detectives from the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) have recently arrested a drug trafficker in Bakarani, Kisauni Sub-County.
In a statement, detectives revealed that the arrest followed a well-coordinated operation based on crucial intelligence leads.
The suspect, 45-year-old Abdalla Said Omar, was cornered at his rented residence in Bakarani.
Officers uncovered 300 grammes of heroin concealed in red and green carrier bags, tightly wrapped in clear cellotape, along with two digital weighing scales believed to have been used in the illicit trade.

Drug trafficking in Kenya has shown a worrying rise this year, with official data indicating a sharp increase in narcotics intercepted by authorities.
According to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, the quantity of illegal drugs seized by police nearly doubled from 14,259 kilogrammes in 2023 to 26,858 kilogrammes in 2024, reflecting an 88.4 percent surge.
While the spike partly points to intensified intelligence operations and law enforcement crackdowns, it also highlights the growing scale of trafficking networks across the country.
Recent police reports reveal a series of high-profile arrests and large hauls of cannabis and heroin in 2025, suggesting that traffickers are expanding their operations despite continued government efforts.
