Former Tetu Member of Parliament Francis Thombe Nyamno has died at the age of 86.
The National Assembly Speaker, Moses Wetang’ula confirmed the death of the former lawmaker on Monday, September 29.
Speaker Wetang’ula mourned the former MP as one to be remembered for his distinguished service and leadership.
“With deep sorrow, I have learnt of the passing of former Tetu MP, Hon. Francis Thombe Nyammo. He will be remembered for his distinguished service, leadership, and commitment to community welfare. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the people of Tetu. May his soul rest in peace.”

According to reports, Thombe passed away on Sunday morning.
Details surrounding the cause of his death remain undisclosed as of this publication.
The late Nyamno entered national politics when he ran for MP for Tetu Constituency in the 2007 general election where he contested on a Party of National Unity (PNU) ticket and won.
He served as MP for Tetu from 2008 to March 2013.
While in Parliament, he was vice-chair of the Departmental Committee on Education, Research and Technology from 2008 to 2012.
He was also a member of the Constituencies Development Fund (CDF) Committee under the CDF Act during the same period (2008–2012).
During his tenure, he was involved in parliamentary debates and motions, including advocating for compensation for Tetu residents who worked in the Nyayo Tea Zones in the 1980s.
His term ended in 2013, when he lost the seat to Ndung’u Gethenji of The National Alliance (TNA).
