In an interesting turn of events, Simon Muteti who was allegedly abducted has been rescued.
Reports indicate that he was abducted by members of the Special Operations Unit in Timau Laikipia on October 22nd, 2024.
His family filled with lots of distress sought for help from the President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), Faith Odhiambo who responded to their call.

In a statement on 11th February 2025, the LSK President confirmed that Muteti had been found alive and was reunited with his family.
“Mr. Simon Muteti has been released after being held incommunicado for more than 3 months. He is safely with his family but remains petrified by his ordeal. We will extend the necessary legal and psychological support to him” Odhiambo stated.
Another family from Garsen had also sought for help from LSK through their representative Ibrahim Abdullahi who claimed that their relative was taken into custody from within Garsen police station and has been missing since October 5th.
His whereabouts is yet to be unfold.
The LSK on the other had as per their promise is intensifying its efforts to provide legal aid, gather information, support affected families and raise awareness through partnerships with other organizations.
