US Boosts Kenya-Led Haiti Mission with Equipment and Vehicles

The Kenya-Led Multinational Security Support (MSS) in Haiti have received donations from the United States.

The MSS released a statement on Tuesday 10th February 2025 informing that the donations were made through the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).

” Sustaining the momentum, the fight against gangs received a major boost on Monday, February 10, 2025, when the U.S State Department, through the INL, donated crucial equipment to the HNP (Haiti National Police)” the statement read.

Among the donations included nine pickups, two trucks, two excavators, two armored loaders and ten bullets.

Last week, additional 144 police officers were sent to Haiti despite US pausing the funding to the Multinational Mission security.

The funding paused totaled Ksh. 1.7 billion to the UN trust fund.

However, Kenya Foreign affairs Principal Secretary Korir Sing’oei revealed that the fund has sufficient resources to continue until the end of September 2025.

He also revealed that the mission has support from other countries such as Canada, France, Turkey, Spain, Italy among others who had already pledged Ksh. 14.2 billion.
