Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has disclosed that he has no intention of resigning from his position as Secretary General of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Speaking during an interview on July 22, Sifuna noted that he still believes in the values of the party and in the trust placed in its leadership by members across the country.
He went on to state that should he make the decision to vacate the office, he will admit it and publicly announce the move.

“The reason I will not resign yet is because I have not given up yet, I have not given up on members of the ODM. There is still belief and trust within the ranks of the party that Raila Odinga knows what is right for the people and that he will do the right thing. On the day that I give up, I will tell you, I will say it publicly that I have lost the battle to rescue this party and to bring it back to where it was,” he said.
The senator moreover acknowledged the confusion within the party and took responsibility for the lack of clarity on key issues.
This comes months after MP Peter Salasya urged Sifuna to resign from his position as the ODM Secretary General.
According to the lawmaker by then, Sifuna cannot oppose the government, yet the ODM party is supporting it.
MP Salasya warned Senator Sifuna that he would be doomed if he continued to stay in the Raila-led party.
