The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has unveiled a WhatsApp number that can be used by citizens to share crime-related information.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, July 22, the DCI stated that the public can use the number to share any crime-related information anonymously via WhatsApp.
He added that the DCI will continue to offer the toll-free number, which citizens can use to report crime.
“With our upgrade, this enhancement not only improves accessibility but also aligns with adopting rapid technological advancement in our crime-fighting methods and strategies. We are proud to announce that the public can now share confidential information through WhatsApp 070957000,” Amin said.
“The Fichua Kwa DCI centre has provided an anonymous and secure channel through which the public, both locally and internationally, can share intelligence on crime via our toll number 0800722203”, he added.
The ‘Fichua Kwa DCI’ is a campaign run by the DCI to encourage individuals to report any crimes in the country.
It also provides a confidential way for people to provide information to the DCI without being identified.
