Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa, the father of Senate Speaker Amason Kingi has passed away.
The speaker announced the death of his father on his social media platforms recalling on how they spent their Christmas in 2024 with lots of enthusiasm.
“Since I attained adulthood, I don’t remember ever dancing with you, Dad. Not until the 25th of December 2024 during Christmas at Mjanaheri village when for the very first time we danced, danced and danced together until sunset” Kingi stated.

Your face beamed with joy. We were not just celebrating Christmas but giving thanks to the Almighty for your remarkable recovery after years of battling many ailments. I didn’t know that dance would be the first and last with you Dad” he added.
Being completely broken, the Senate speaker appreciated his father for the valuable lessons that contributed to his success.
“Indeed, you were God’s gift to us. I would never have asked for a better father. Dad may the Angels open the gates of heaven and welcome another angel with a dance just like we did at Mjanaheri. Until we meet again Dad” he further stated.
In a condolence message, President William Ruto described Kingi Mwaruwa as a respected, progressive and hardworking father.
“Our condolence to Amason Kingi for the loss of his father. He was respected, progressive and hardworking. Mheshimiwa Amason Kingi, the family and the people pf Kilifi are in our prayers during this difficult time” the Head of State wrote.
