Marcus Rashford finally made his debut for Aston Villa from the bench after 59 days of not playing as Villa triumphed 2-1 over Tottenham Hotspurs in the FA CUP.
Marcus last stepped on the pitch for Manchester United in the Europa League and would then be loaned out in the mid-season transfer window.
Rashford was given a warm welcome by the Villa fanatics on Sunday night, his first outing for the club a week after signing on the dateline.
He entered the pitch in the 65th minute, replacing fellow new boy Donyell Malen, and touched the ball 22 times, with each touch met with excitement from the home crowd.
Marcus Rashford’s stats on his Villa debut vs. Spurs (30 minutes played): 93% pass accuracy, 22 total touches, 6 duels contested, 4 duels won, 2 tackles attempted, 2 tackles won, 2 take-on.
Rashford took to Instagram to thank his new fanbase for the support, sharing six photos with the caption:
“Thank you for the warm welcome. Great team performance.”
Sancho wrote in response to Rashford, “Freedom”, along with two emojis, clearly celebrating that his pal is away from Old Trafford and found playing time.
