Ruth Odinga has issued a stern warning to ODM members against fueling divisions in the party following the passing of its leader, Raila Odinga.
Speaking during the burial ceremony held at JOOUST in Bondo, Siaya County, on Sunday, October 19, Ruth faulted a section of members for allegedly attempting to undermine the late Raila’s legacy.
She reiterated that Raila’s wish before his death was for the ODM Party to uphold unity and solidarity.

Internal cracks within ODM were evident well before Raila’s passing, with his partnership with the Kenya Kwanza government deepening existing divisions in the party.
Following the signing of an MoU in March 2025, cracks have appeared within ODM amid reports that some members were dissatisfied with the party’s decision to align with the Kenya Kwanza government.
Ruth Odinga, however, affirmed that ODM would remain steadfast and united, emphasizing that “the party will go into any negotiation table as one.”
