Recruit Constable Arrested in Sh687K Employment Fraud

Detectives from Kayole Police Station have arrested a Police Recruit Constable accused of orchestrating an elaborate employment scam that cost an unsuspecting Kenyan Sh687,000.

In a statement issued by DCI, the saga began on November 12, 2025, when the suspect, Kipkoech Isaac, allegedly approached his victim with an enticing promise in an official Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) employment letter.

All it would take, he claimed, was a payment of Sh700,000.

Convinced the opportunity was genuine, the complainant handed over Sh687,000.

However soon after receiving the money, Kipkoech reportedly disappeared without a trace.

His phone went silent, and the promised employment letter never materialised, leaving the victim devastated and betrayed.

The incident prompted detectives to launch a manhunt, tracking the suspect to the National Police College, Embakasi A campus, where he was eventually arrested.

Kipkoech is now in custody as police process the case ahead of his arraignment in court.
