Kalonzo Targets Tax Cuts and Education Revamp in 2027 Election Pitch

Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) leader Kalonzo Musyoka has pledged major reforms in taxation and education if elected president in the 2027 general election.

On Sunday, February 8, Kalonzo announced plans to abolish the housing levy and address what he described as years of over-taxation that have burdened Kenyans.

He emphasized that his administration would focus on easing the tax load on workers and ensuring that salaries benefit individuals rather than solely government coffers.

Kalonzo also outlined plans to reform the education sector, aiming to restore the system to the world-class standards he and former President Kibaki once championed.

According to him, the goal is to prepare Kenyans to compete globally rather than merely cope locally.

He stressed that meaningful reform would require removing the current government from office.

Kalonzo further claimed that opposition leaders face frequent targeting by the state, which he said is driven by the administration’s fear of their reform agenda.

The Wiper party leader made the remarks following a town hall meeting with Kenyans in Baltimore, USA.

Kalonzo arrived in Washington, D.C. on the evening of Wednesday, February 4, where he was warmly received by the Kenyan community.

He announced that he would attend the 74th National Prayer Breakfast and hold meetings with Kenyans living in the US, as well as other key stakeholders.
