Police officers in Kajiado County, have recovered government stores, Administration Police uniforms, and copper wire following an operation targeting suspected criminals.
In a statement by the Directorate of Criminal Investiagations (DCI), the operation was launched after officers received actionable intelligence that suspects were allegedly burning copper wire at a hideout to strip off its insulation.
This prompted the officers to rush to the location who found signs of the suspected activity, but the suspects reportedly managed to escape before police could close in on them.
During the search of one of the houses associated with the suspects, officers recovered several items believed to be linked to the activities under investigation.
Among the items recovered were Administration Police uniform pieces, including a beret, shirt, jungle jacket, trousers and a maroon belt.
Additionally , the authority found pliers and tin snips, equipment that can be used to cut and strip copper wire, alongside solar equipment and other assorted items.
The recovery of the AP uniforms has added another dimension to the investigation as detectives work to establish how the government-issued clothing came into the possession of the suspects.
