Police have launched probe into the death of former Parliament chef Kamau Mungai Gathogo was fatally stabbed during a domestic altercation at his residence in Ongata Rongai.
According to police reports, police officers responding to the scene found Mungai lying inside his house with serious injuries.
Reports indicate that he was immediately rushed to Saitoti Hospital for emergency treatment before being referred to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) for specialised treatment.
Unfortunately, Gathongo succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to the hospital, prompting immediate investigations and a manhunt for the suspect.

Further reports indicate that Ongata Rongai OCPD Benjamin Kiprono confirmed that the incident stemmed from a confrontation that began inside the house and quickly escalated into violence.
“When the police visited the scene, they found him lying in his room. He was rushed to Saitoti Hospital and then referred to Kenyatta Hospital. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries,” said Kiprono.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect, believed to have visited the deceased at his home, allegedly used a kitchen knife found within the house during the altercation.
“It was just a fight that went too far. I can confirm that there was a single stab wound on the left side of the chest, which may have injured a vital organ,” he added.
Police have since arrested one suspect who is currently in custody pending arraignment in court.
