Kenyans seeking to register for the United States Diversity Visa, otherwise known as the Green Card lottery, will be required to pay a mandatory registration fee of $1 (about Ksh129 in the current exchange rates).
The changes will take effect from October 16, 2025.
The new fee will be in addition to the mandatory $330 (Ksh42,619) application fee paid by applicants who are selected for interviews.
The new policy will apply to applicants in the 2027 DV lottery.
Reports indicate that new registration fee will not be refunded regardless of the lottery results.
