She also reassured her constituents that she was receiving the necessary medical attention and appreciated the concern shown by members of the public following news of her hospitalization.
Although Maina confirmed she had been admitted to hospital, she did not disclose the nature of her illness or provide further details about her condition.
This comes just days after she emerged as one of the country’s top-performing Members of Parliament in the latest Infotrak survey measuring the performance of elected leaders.
In the opinion poll, Maina was ranked among the best-performing Woman Representatives, with respondents citing her visibility, constituency engagement and development initiatives as key factors behind her strong approval ratings.
The survey marked another milestone for the Kirinyaga Woman Representative, who has steadily built a reputation as one of the most active legislators in the National Assembly since taking office.
Over the past year, Maina has remained vocal on issues affecting women, youth and governance, while also championing education programmes, empowerment initiatives and improved service delivery for residents of Kirinyaga County.
Her performance in the Infotrak survey was widely welcomed by supporters, with many congratulating her for the recognition and attributing it to her consistent engagement with constituents.
Following her latest health update, messages wishing her a speedy recovery poured in from fellow leaders, supporters and Kenyans on social media, with many expressing hope that she will resume her parliamentary duties once she is fully recovered.
