Karua paid special tribute to pilot George Were, disclosing that she had worked closely with him during the 2022 general election campaign period.

She noted that Were had been her assigned pilot during the Azimio presidential campaign, flying her across the country through long days, challenging terrain, and demanding schedules.

Karua described him as a professional she knew personally and held in high regard.

The People’s Liberation Party leader further reflected on the pilot’s character, describing him as a consummate professional whose patience and warmth stood out, particularly during demanding moments.

She recalled his calm demeanor, sense of humor, and willingness to accommodate those around him, noting that his words of encouragement often made a difference on the most challenging days of the campaign.

Extending her condolences to Were’s family, Karua said his kindness and reassuring presence left a lasting impression on everyone who worked with him.

She added that his rare warmth and humanity would be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
