Firefighters from Machakos County responded promptly and were deployed to contain and extinguish the fire.
Authorities had yet to confirm any casualties or injuries resulting from the truck accident.
The crash triggered a significant traffic snarl-up along the busy Nairobi–Mombasa Highway, particularly affecting vehicles heading toward Mombasa.
The incident comes weeks after a Range Rover caught fire along the Nairobi Expressway on Thursday, January 29.
According to the Moja Expressway company, the vehicle developed a mechanical problem that led to combustion.
The firm stated that its patrol team, working alongside officers from the Kenya Police Service, safely evacuated the passengers before extinguishing the blaze, though traffic was temporarily disrupted near the Southern Bypass Entrance B.
Photos from the scene showed the luxury vehicle engulfed in flames, with thick smoke rising into the air.
