The Junior Starlets players have returned to school to catch up with the rest of the students towards the end of first term after the World Cup Qualifiers 2nd round match against Uganda that was played on Sunday.
Among those who reported to school today include Butere Girls trio of Joy Angela, Halima Imbachi and Patience Asiko and Ugunja Township’s Brenda Achieng’.
Kenya U-17 forward Brenda Achieng received a heroic welcome from her fellow pupils, teachers and parents at Ugunja Township Mixed Primary & Junior School in Siaya County after her impressive performance.
Achieng scored two goals for Kenya U-17 in their match against Uganda on Sunday at Nyayo National Stadium as the Junior Starlets advanced to the third and final round of the World Cup U17 Qualifiers.
Brender who came from the bench to score twice for Kenya in an emphatic triumph over Uganda on Sunday 16th is a grade 8 pupil at the school and a product of Nyasanda Soccer Academy in Ugunja-Siaya.
The Junior Starlets have qualified for the final round of FIFA U17 World Cup qualifiers amd are set to play Cameroon in a two legged tie that will determine whoever will advance to the group stage of the U17 World Cup that will be staged in Morocco.
