Kenyan MSS Officer Injured During Operation In Haiti

A Kenyan Police Officer was on Tuesday, March 18 injured during a security operation in Kenscoff, within the Belot area in Haiti.

In a statement released by Multinational Security Support Mission to Haiti Spokesperson Jack Ombaka, the officer was evacuated to ASPEN Level 2 Hospital.  

According to Ombaka, the injured police officer successfully received treatment and is currently recuperating in stable condition.

“Today, Tuesday, March 18, 2025, a member of the MSS Kenyan contingent was injured while conducting a security operation in Kenscoff, within the Belot area.The officer was promptly evacuated to ASPEN Level 2 Hospital, where he is receiving medical attention and is in stable condition,” Ombaka noted.

This comes weeks after another officer succumbed after he sustained injuries during an operation in Segur-Savien in the Artibonite department.

Samuel Tompoi Kaetuai was airlifted to Aspen Level 2 Hospital but passed away while receiving treatment.

His arrived in Kenya on March 10 and was received by Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police Service (APS) Gilbert Masengeli at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

Kenya has deployed 744 officers to Haiti so far, with the latest contingent of 144 police officers arriving in the nation on February 7, 2025.
