A rare moment of kindness was witnessed at Milimani Courts when Principal Magistrate Benmark Ekhubi offered to buy a meal for an accused who claimed to be hungry.
In a rare turn of events, Magistrate Ekhubi was questioning the suspect appearing before him when the exchange took an unexpected turn where the accused was asked if he was being treated well in remand.
The accused replied that he was being treated well, but was angry during the time of the questioning.
The magistrate then asked him what he wanted to eat. He chose milk and bread, which he calculated would cost Ksh120.
However, the magistrate gave him Ksh500 and directed that he be taken to get the items.
The magistrate also ordered that the he should be taken to the hospital on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, for assessment.
