Government Moves to Extradite British Soldier Linked to Agnes Wanjiru’s Killing

The Kenyan government has formally initiated the extradition process for the British soldier accused of murdering Agnes Wanjiru over a decade ago

According to Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), the request for extradition has already been transmitted to the Office of the Attorney General (AG).

The AG confirmed in court that it sent two physical copies and a soft copy of the extradition documents on October 9, 2025, through official diplomatic channels.

“The extradition process has been initiated. We have done our part and are now waiting for the Attorney General to forward the documents to the UK central authority,” the court heard.

This marks the first official confirmation in court that the extradition procedure is underway, following the High Court’s September 16, 2025, order issuing a warrant of arrest for the UK suspect linked to the murder.

Regarding the matter, the court stated that the matter be mentioned monthly to track the extradition process.
