Gor Mahia booked their place in the next round of the CECAFA tournament after defeating Sudan’s Al Hilal 8-7 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time on Monday.
The Kenyan giants showed great determination to overcome their opponents in a tense encounter that ended level after 90 minutes.
Both teams created several chances, but neither side managed to find the winning goal before the match headed to penalties.

Gor Mahia opened the scoring before Al Hilal fought back to restore parity, setting up a dramatic finish. With the scores locked at 1-1, the contest was decided from the spot kicks.
In the shootout, K’Ogalo players kept their composure, converting eight penalties to secure a narrow 8-7 victory and spark celebrations among their supporters.
