In a statement issued on the evening of Wednesday, April 8, the agency condemned the incident, describing it as brazen and cowardly.

DCI moreover noted that the motive behind the attack on Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has not yet been established, even as detectives pursue critical leads.
According to the agency, investigators are relying on forensic analysis of CCTV footage from the scene to piece together the events and identify those involved.
DCI urged members of the public to remain calm and refrain from speculation as investigations continue, reiterating its commitment to resolving the case and bringing those responsible to justice.
The incident occurred on Wednesday morning at a Java House outlet at Western Mall in Kisumu, where the senator was attacked by two men.
Surveillance footage captured the assailants, one dressed in a black t-shirt, cap, and pants, and the other in a white hoodie and white cargo pants assaulting the senator with kicks and blows.
A staff member at the establishment attempted to intervene and stop the attack but was forced to back away after being threatened by one of the assailants.
Siaya Governor James Orengo condemned the incident, describing it as a calculated and deliberate act rather than a random occurrence.
He characterised the attack as a cowardly ambush and linked it to what he suggested was a broader pattern of intimidation targeting specific political voices.
