Environment Cabinet Secretary Deborah Barasa visited Kwanza Member of Parliament Ferdinand Wanyonyi, expressing optimism over the legislator’s recovery and describing his progress as a testament to his resilience.
In a statement shared after the visit, Barasa said she was pleased to witness the steady improvement in Wanyonyi’s health, noting that the veteran lawmaker continues to inspire many through his strength and determination.
The CS described Wanyonyi as a respected mentor, teacher and leader whose dedication to public service, unity and community development has earned him admiration across Trans Nzoia County and beyond.

She also lauded the MP for his longstanding commitment to environmental conservation, saying his efforts in promoting environmental stewardship have left a lasting impact on communities and future generations.
Barasa noted that Wanyonyi’s contribution to leadership and nation-building remains invaluable, adding that his influence continues to be felt by many people who have worked with or looked up to him over the years.
The Cabinet Secretary said the visit was also meant to reaffirm support and solidarity with the MP and his family during his recovery.
She was accompanied by Trans Nzoia County Commissioner H.A. Hussein, the Assistant County Commissioner for Kwanza, members of the Mulumbe Women Leadership, youth groups and other government officials.
