Youth Affairs Principal Secretary Fikirini Jacobs jas broken silence for the first time following the fatal shooting of Cecil Ouma.
According to him, he is ready to cooperate fully with investigators to ensure justice is served.
Addressing the press on Thursday, July 2, 2026, the PS disclosed that he had already recorded a statement with the police as the investigations into the matter continue.
He disclosed that seven people, including two of his bodyguards, had also been summoned and were aiding the police with investigations.
Additionally, the PS said that no family should have to endure the pain of losing a loved one under such circumstances, reiterating that the death of Cecil was a tragedy that should never have happened.
“Regarding circumstances surrounding Cecil’s death, I believe no family should have to endure such a tragic loss. I believe no youth’s life should end that way Cecil’s did,” Fikirini said.
“As such, I have responded to an invitation by the investigative agency to record my statement. Already seven people, including two from my office, have been summoned and shared their side of the story,” he added.
