East African Legislative Assembly Member Winnie Odinga has announced plans to vie for Nairobi Senator in the 2027 elections.
Winnie made the announcement at Migwena Cultural Grounds on Thursday, October 15, during the one-year commemoration of her father.
“Let it not be a rumour that as Edwin Sifuna searches for higher offices, I see there is some space in Nairobi and that is why I have decided I will vie for Senator of Nairobi county,” she said.
Despite that, Winnie Odinga did not make it clear which political party she would be vying under.
She warned that there should be no speculation about her riding under Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna’s wave in Nairobi to go for the presidency, despite Nairobi being predominantly an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) region electorally.
The East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament has since urged young people from all walks of life in the country to join her in the quest and to also seek elective office.
