Nigerian renown actor Olu Jacobs has died at the age of 84.
According to reports, the news was confirmed by his family who announced his passing away on Wednesday morning.
“With gratitude to God for a life well lived and fought, we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and uncle. The Lion of Lufodo, Oludotun Baiyewun Jacobs (MFR),” the family said.

Olu Jacobs is known for his appearance on British television in the 1970s before beginning his film career in Nigeria in the 1980s.
He has left behind a remarkable screen legacy.
Jacobs also brought a unique dimension to Nigerian cinema, drawing on his extensive stage and international experience, his portrayal of diverse characters and a career that spanned both Nigerian and British entertainment.
He is survived by his wife, Joke Silva, their children and grandchildren.
