Two men guilty of deliberately felling of UK’s most iconic tree face being sentenced to jail.
The accused persons, identified as Daniel Grahama and Adam Carruthers reportedly used a chainsaw to bring down a nearly 150-year-old sycamore tree in less than three minutes.
One of them filmed the act, but it has not been explained who did what and why, with the prosecution claiming that each encouraged the other to commit the act.
The two were convicted in May for two counts of criminal damage each.
The two might face 10 years in prison according to the penalties for their crime.
