The Technical University of Kenya (TUK) has announced the construction of a state-of-the-art Innovation Hub in a landmark partnership.
This marks a major milestone in the university‘s push toward technological advancement and innovation-driven learning.
According to an internal memorandum, the Innovation Hub will be constructed on the open space adjacent to the university’s main gate along Haile Selassie Avenue.
Construction is scheduled to commence on July 1, 2026, and is expected to run for 52 weeks.
According to the university, the project serves as a transformative development that will strengthen teaching, research, entrepreneurship and technology-based solutions while nurturing the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.
“The Foundation has generously committed to funding the construction of the Innovation Hub, reflecting a shared commitment to innovation and practical solutions for national development,” the memo stated.
The Institution noted that the facility will provide a modern environment designed to support learning, enterprise development, and cutting-edge research.
During the construction period, members of the university community have been advised to expect temporary inconveniences, including noise, dust, and restricted access to certain sections near the project site.
However, the university assured students and staff that operations would continue with minimal disruption.
Furthermore, the project will position TUK as a leading centre for technological excellence in Kenya.
The university has now called upon students, staff, and visitors to observe all safety signage, comply with temporary access arrangements, and exercise caution around the construction area.
