The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has issued a clarification following a fake circular claiming to halt the deployment of primary school teachers to Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) that went viral on social media.
The commission dismissed the document, saying it did not originate from its offices.
“The Teachers Service Commission has come to the attention of the above-circulating circular on deployment of teachers. Please note that the information is not only misleading but fake,” TSC stated.
The fake notice had claimed that the pending applications, shortlists and ongoing vetting exercises linked to the deployment programme had been cancelled and would no longer be processed by regional offices.
However, TSC has maintained that the deployment of primary school teachers to Junior Secondary Schools has not been stopped.
Additionally, the commission has introduced a fresh mass deployment strategy that prioritizes moving existing JSS teachers upward into Senior School roles under the new Grade 10 transition framework taking shape nationally.
