TikTok has revealed that it has removed over 820,000 videos in Kenya between October and December 2025 as the platform intensify efforts to improve online safety and curb harmful content.
According to reports, the videos were removed following violation of Community Guidelines during the fourth quarter of 2025, pointing out to the scale of moderation activities on the platform.
According to the company, 99.9 per cent of the flagged videos were proactively detected and removed before any user reports were made, while 98.4 per cent were taken down within 24 hours of being uploaded.

The renown platform also disclosed that it banned 108,752 accounts in Kenya for breaching platform policies during the same period, with a large number linked to alleged underage users.
Further reports indicate that out of the banned accounts, 93,704 were reported to belong to users below the age of 13, which violates TikTok’s minimum age requirements for account ownership.
TikTok further revealed that the move was part of its commitment to protect younger users online and ensure a safer digital environment for its growing community in Kenya and across the world.
The giant platform also said that it continued to enroll more changes in 2025, including publishing more information about TikTok LIVE monetisation enforcement, expanding transparency on comment removals, and improving reporting around advertising moderation and intellectual property enforcement on TikTok Shop.
