Police have arrested a suspected drug trafficker and recovered cannabis worth approximately KSh 8.1 million following a chase along the Eldoret–Nakuru Highway.
The arrest happened after detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit who were on routine patrol noticed a blue Toyota Voxy that appeared suspicious.
When officers signaled the driver to stop, he ignored the order and sped off, forcing police to pursue the vehicle.

Officers quickly apprehended the suspect, who was later identified as David Muraya.
After searching the vehicle, officers discovered 13 sacks filled with dry plant material suspected to be cannabis sativa.
The cannabis is estimated to weigh about 272 kilograms and has a street value of around KSh 8,160,000.
The suspect is currently being held in police custody and is expected to appear in court on Monday, March 16, 2026.
Police say investigations are ongoing as authorities continue efforts to crack down on illegal drug trafficking in the country.
