Several Shops Burnt After Fire Outbreak in Eastleigh, Nairobi

A mysterious fire broke out on Friday, February 7, at a tyre shop in Eastleigh Estate, destroying several items.

According to reports, the fire started a few minutes past noon along Eastleigh’s General Waruingi Street, opposite Pumwani Maternity Hospital.

 The fire quickly spread to nearby buildings, escalating the damage.

Firefighters from the Nairobi County Government arrived and managed to put out the fire, though property worth an unknown value had already been lost.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established despite several speculations by residents about what could have started the inferno.

This incident adds to the number of fire incidents reported across the country since the year began. 

In an almost similar incident, 19 families were left homeless after the fire burnt down several houses.

The incident which occurred on January 28, in Kericho Town began after a fire broke out in one of the houses located near the National Bank Office minutes before midnight before it spread to other buildings.
