Security officers and emergency response teams swiftly arrived at the scene to aid in the rescue operation.

However, authorities have yet to disclose the number of casualties or confirm how many people were inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.

The Gatanga crash adds to the growing list of road accidents reported on major highways across the country.

Notably, the incident occurred just a few hours after a lorry crashed into a hardware shop in Kiambu County on Saturday, October 25, along the Mutarakwa–Maai Mahiu Road at Limuru Junction.

Images shared online showed the truck perched precariously on the building’s roof, with its rear wheels hanging mid-air and the front cabin lodged inside the structure.
