Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has warned President Ruto that the 2027 General Election will pose a major challenge for him.
Speaking on Saturday, October 25, Khalwale said the Head of State would come to realize his importance when the political tide turns against him ahead of the next polls.
“President Ruto, let me tell you, in 2027, things are going to be difficult for you. That is when you will realize that you need Khalwale here in Kakamega to succeed. That is when you will know you need Seth Panyako in Malava to succeed, ”Khalwale stated.

The Senator went on to note that the development projects he is demanding in the Western region are a token of appreciation for the votes the region gave President Ruto in the 2022 general election.
He further took a swipe at Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, accusing him of misleading President Ruto about his influence in Kakamega County.
Khalwale’s warning to President Ruto comes days after the UDA Party issued him a 14-day ultimatum to explain why he is supporting a rival candidate in the upcoming Malava by-election.
In a letter dated October 14, the party’s Disciplinary Committee stated that Senator Boni Khalwale’s recent activities violate the party’s constitution and code of conduct.
The committee further accused the Kakamega Senator of acting contrary to the interests of the ruling party, terming his behaviour as disloyal and amounting to gross misconduct.
Consequently, the committee directed Khalwale to show cause why disciplinary action should not be taken against him.
