Police have recovered four illegal firearms during an intelligence-led operation inIsiolo County.
In a statement on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, the authority revealed that the recovered weapons comprise two G3 rifles, one M16 rifle, and one AK-47 rifle, along with four magazines and ammunition.
“Police officers, working collaboratively with other security agencies in a multi-agency approach, yesterday successfully recovered four firearms during a meticulous intelligence-led operation conducted in the Lowangila and Ariemet areas of Isiolo County”, the statement read.
“The recovered weapons, including two G3 rifles, one M16 rifle, and one AK-47 rifle, along with four magazines and ammunition”, the statement added.
According to NPS, the operation was a result of a deliberate multi-agency collaboration, which noted that the recovery reflects the effectiveness of ongoing security operations and the growing cooperation between security agencies and local communities.
The firearms have been documented and secured pending further police action.
