Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has effected a mini-reshuffle within his cabinet, reassigning five County Chief Officers in the latest changes.
In a statement issued on Friday, April 24, Sakaja redeployed Machel Waikenda from the Mobility and acting ICT Infrastructure docket to Lands.
Waikenda will, however, continue serving as the acting Chief Officer in the Mobility sector.

As part of the changes, Cecilia Koigu was moved from Lands to take over the ICT Infrastructure docket, while Engineer Bob Ariemba was appointed acting Chief Officer in charge of Works.
The governor also transferred Irene Muchoki from the Medical Services docket to Gender and Inclusivity, as part of the broader reorganization aimed at strengthening service delivery within the county.
Moreover, Mariam Dubow Dahir moved from the Gender and Inclusivity docket to take over Medical Services, replacing Irene Muchoki.
According to the county boss, the latest changes take effect immediately, as part of ongoing efforts to streamline operations within the county administration.
The reshuffle comes months after a previous round of changes that saw several Chief Officers reassigned across key departments.
In the earlier reorganization, Geoffrey Mosiria was moved from Environment to Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, with Hibrahim Otieno taking over the Environment docket. Godfrey Akumali was transferred from Business and Hustler Opportunities to Housing and Urban Renewal, while Tony Michael Kimani’s role was expanded from Social Services to Social Services and Estate Management.
Sakaja also effected additional changes across several dockets in the county executive.
Lydia Mathia was moved from Housing and Urban Renewal to the Business and Hustler Opportunities portfolio, while Sande Oyolo was reassigned to the Medical Facilities docket.
Wilson Gakuya, who had been heading the Smart Nairobi docket, was transferred to the Digital Economy and Start-Ups portfolio as part of the reorganization.
In further changes, Clement Rapudo was moved from City Culture, Arts and Tourism to the Smart Nairobi docket, while Zipporah Mwangi was reassigned from Citizen Engagement and Customer Service to City Culture, Arts and Tourism.
