Special Welcome in Vienna

Ogam’s move was celebrated in style, with the Kenyan Embassy in Vienna offering him an official welcome.

Valerie Rugene, Deputy Head of Mission, praised the forward’s journey and emphasized the wider impact of his signing.

You are now ambassadors for Kenya—represent us well,” Rugene told Ogam, noting that his success could pave the way for future generations of Kenyan talent in Europe.

From Harambee Stars to the Austrian Bundesliga

At just 24, Ogam has already built a reputation as one of the most reliable players for the Harambee Stars, Kenya’s national team.

He impressed during the African Cup of Nations and in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, where his speed, vision, and tireless work rate stood out.

Now, Wolfsberger AC supporters will be hoping he brings the same energy to the Austrian Bundesliga, where the Wolves are looking to strengthen their squad with his creativity and attacking flair.

Breaking Barriers for Kenyan Football

Kenya has produced notable footballers in leagues across Africa and Europe, but Ogam’s transfer to Austria is a historic first.

His journey reflects the growing recognition of East African footballers abroad and could inspire more scouts and clubs to look towards Kenya for talent.

“This is bigger than just me,” Ogam said in a brief club statement. “It’s about showing what Kenyan players can achieve when given the chance.”

A New Chapter with the Wolves

At Wolfsberg, Ogam will wear the black and white of WAC, joining a club known for competing fiercely in the Austrian Bundesliga.

The team and fans have already welcomed him with open arms, eager to see how he adapts to European football.

With his arrival, the Wolves gain not just a new signing but also a trailblazer.

For Kenyan football fans, Ogam’s Austrian adventure will be followed with pride and high expectations.
