Ruto Receives Kirui After Epic Wheelbarrow Journey from Baringo

President William Ruto on [insert date] welcomed UDA aspirant Emmanuel Kirui, who made a remarkable journey from Mogotio, Baringo County, to Nairobi pushing a wheelbarrow.

The bright yellow wheelbarrow, adorned with UDA party colours and slogans, carried the words “One man, one wheelbarrow, one dream” and was presented as a gift to the Head of State.

Kirui said the trek was intended both to show gratitude for development projects in Mogotio constituency and to seek employment opportunities.

After a brief discussion, President Ruto and Kirui posed for photographs alongside top UDA leaders, including Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar.

UDA aspirant Emmanuel Kirui, who pushed a wheelbarrow from Mogotio, Baringo County, to Nairobi, was accompanied by the area Member of Parliament, Reuben Kiborek, who expressed pride in the milestone.

Kirui departed Baringo on January 30 and arrived in Nairobi on January 3. He was welcomed at the ruling party’s headquarters by National Treasurer Japheth Nyakundi.

He made the journey alongside 40 other youths affiliated with the party, with police providing security throughout the trip.

The group joined other aspirants for breakfast before meeting President Ruto, who emphasized the role of candidates at the grassroots and urged them to promote the party and its manifesto. 

He assured a fair preliminary election process and announced a waiver of the Ksh200 aspirant registration fee.
