Renowned Gospel Artist Betty Bayo Dies

Renowned Kikuyu gospel singer Betty Bayo has passed away.

According to a statement released on November 10, the artist died from advanced blood cancer (leukemia) at Kenyatta National Hospital at 1:03 p.m.

 A representative confirmed the tragic news, disclosing that she had been battling cancer and was suffering from excessive bleeding.

The artist was transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital on Friday, where medical personnel worked tirelessly to save her life.

Her body has been transferred from Kenyatta National Hospital to KU Referral Hospital, with further details regarding funeral arrangements to be announced in due course.

Betty Bayo was a celebrated Kikuyu gospel singer, widely known for her soulful voice and inspirational music that resonated with many across Kenya and beyond. 

She rose to fame with her powerful worship songs that combined traditional Kikuyu melodies with contemporary gospel rhythms, earning her a loyal fan base among churchgoers and gospel music lovers.

Throughout her career, Bayo released several popular songs that became staples in Kenyan gospel music, performing at church events, gospel concerts, and national celebrations.
