Raphael Tuju Missing: DCI Releases New Details

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has issued a statement regarding the mysterious disappearance of former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju.

In a statement released on Sunday, March 22, the agency confirmed that the case had been formally reported and that investigations are currently underway.

Authorities indicated that the matter was reported at Karen Police Station, prompting an immediate response from investigators.

The DCI also outlined the sequence of events leading up to the discovery, noting that Tuju was reported missing by his family earlier that day.

His vehicle was later found abandoned under unclear circumstances in the Karen area.

According to investigators, the car was discovered along Miotoni Lane with its hazard lights still on, raising further questions about the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.

The DCI further explained how the incident came to light, revealing that a security guard from a nearby institution raised the alarm, triggering a swift response from officers based at Karen Police Station.

Authorities indicated that the scene was secured and processed by crime scene investigators, with the vehicle later towed to the station for detailed forensic analysis as part of ongoing investigations.

Investigators also confirmed that attempts to reach Raphael Tuju have so far been unsuccessful, noting that his mobile phone remains switched off.

A specialized investigative team has since been deployed to take over the case, working closely with other relevant government agencies in efforts to trace his whereabouts and establish the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.

DCI moreover indicated that multiple investigative approaches are being deployed to establish the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju.

However, detectives have cited limited access to key locations as a setback, noting that efforts to access Tuju’s residence in Karen were unsuccessful due to lack of cooperation from family members.

The case has raised concern after Tuju had earlier reported being followed by an unmarked white Toyota Land Cruiser, just a day before he went missing.

He was last seen on Saturday, March 21, and later failed to appear for a scheduled radio interview, with his phones remaining switched off since.

The situation escalated after his vehicle was discovered abandoned in Karen, prompting the family to file a missing person report as investigations intensified.
