The Public Service Commission (PSC) has dismissed fake appointment letters purportedly issued by different state Departments regarding its decision to hire job applicants on permanent and pensionable terms.
In a notice on Tuesday, November 3,2026, the commission said the letters going around on social media did not originate from the Commission, warning state departments and the public against relying on them.
According to the PSC, the public and government institutions should only rely on information shared on its website and official communication channels.
“The Public Service Commission (PSC) wishes to notify the public that circulating letters purporting to approve recruitment in various State Departments are FAKE and did not originate from the Commission. The public and Government institutions are cautioned against acting on them,” PSC stated.
In the fake letters circulating on social media, the PSC purportedly approved the recruitment of officers into three government departments: the State Department for Forestry, Gender and Affirmative Action, and the State Department of Public Works.
Additionally, the letters alleged that the Commission directed the three departments to recruit the officers listed in the attached schedules on permanent and pensionable terms.
According to the letter, the approval followed a request submitted by the Executive Office of the President.
However, PSC has flagged the letters as fake, directing the government agencies and the general public to treat them as fraudulent.
