A group of angry youths in Majengo have set a police vehicle on fire following the death of a 17-year-old boy.
The 17-year-old was a form three student and was shot dead during a police operation on Tuesday night in Majengo.
According to reports, police officers had stopped a group of youths for a random search on suspicion of drug trafficking.

The boy was shot in the head and succumbed to his injuries moments after being rushed to the hospital.
Following the incident, Majengo residents took to the streets to protest against the police, lighting bonfires and barricaded roads in the area, bringing business to a standstill in Gikomba market.
Moreover, a section of the protestors stormed the area chief’s office and set it on fire before torching two police vehicles and houses belonging to the police.
Additional police officers have been deployed to the scene to prevent the situation from escalating.
