Prophet Owuor Breaks Silence on Viral ‘Conversation With God’ Claim

A leaked WhatsApp screenshot purporting to show Prophet David Owuor in a conversation with God has gone viral, prompting a swift response from the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness.

The image has been widely circulated across social media platforms, attracting both ridicule and concern as thousands of Kenyans continue to share it online.

In a stern statement, the church dismissed the screenshot as fake and malicious, insisting it has no basis in truth.

The ministry urged the public to ignore the image entirely and refrain from spreading what it termed as misinformation.

According to the ministry, Prophet Owuor has never made, displayed, or suggested that he communicates with God through WhatsApp, describing the viral material as a calculated attempt to mislead the public.

The statement comes amid renewed scrutiny after Owuor was recently seen during a sermon holding up phone screenshots, which he claimed were divine messages urging people to repent.

He further alleged that the messages carried a promise from God to “open the sky for rain,” insisting he was uniquely chosen to receive such communication.

Despite these claims, the church maintained that the circulating screenshot is fabricated and part of a broader effort to mock the Christian faith and divert believers from the teachings of repentance and holiness.

Supporters were urged to ignore the image and stop sharing it online.

The controversy also follows an investigative report aired by TV47 on February 9 titled Divine or Deceptive, which questioned Owuor’s healing claims and featured testimonies of worsening medical conditions after some followers allegedly abandoned treatment.

TV47 further reported alleged attempts by the ministry to influence the broadcast’s cancellation, accusations the church rejected, terming them baseless blackmail and misinformation.
