President William Ruto impressed students at Toi primary school by personally serving them meals, which included chapati, a trending topic on social media.
He was accompanied by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.
In a video shared by Citizen, the Chapatis were neatly arranged in a large sufuria as students lined up alongside other meals such as rice and beef ready to be served.
The students also seemed to be filled with lots of enthusiasm as they were served meals.
Recently, the Head of State sparked attention among Kenyans after promising Governor Johnson Sakaja to buy a machine that makes 1Million chapatis for students to support Dishi na County programme.
“I have agreed to buy a chapati-making machine. Governor, your task now is to find out where to buy it,” Ruto said.
This was after Sakaja had requested that the President buy the machine, stating that the program was already feeding over 300,000 children.
“Over 300,00 children are benefiting from the programme that means we need a machine to produce a million chapatis everyday. I have asked the President for it”.
