Videos captured showed armed police officers attempting to block the youth from accessing the institution, with the officers seen beating some of them up.

Several residents sustained injuries, with others seen rushing outside the school compound to avoid police confrontation.

Later the officers locked up at the school gate as the head of state addressed the students.

Adamant residents could be seen banging on the gate as they demanded access to the institution and after several attempts, the residents overpowered the police officers and accessed the premises before they proceeded to Ruto’s meeting.

This comes barely two days after rowdy youth descended on passengers, motorists, and shops along Thika Road, stealing and looting after President William Ruto’s tour of Mathare.

Videos shared online showed the youth storming shops with others attacking motorists on the Thika Super Highway.

However, the DCI have since intervened in the matter and arrested several suspects linked to the attacks.
