President Ruto has postponed his scheduled development tour to Ukambani region.
The Head of State had scheduled the tour for late this month.
In a recent statement, Labour CS Alfred Mutua noted that the president’s development tour was postponed to allow broader engagement with leaders from the region ahead of the tour.

According to Mutua, the Head of State would have a meeting with the leaders on May 21, 2025 at State House Nairobi.
He moreover noted that the new dates of President Ruto’s Ukambani tour would be communicated after the meeting.
“Following a highly successful consultative meeting with President William Ruto and senior government leaders from Ukambani, it was agreed that a broader engagement with Ukambani leaders should be held at State House before the planned development tour of the region. As such, the tour has been rescheduled, and new dates will be communicated after the wider leaders’ meeting. The meeting with the broader leadership will take place on Wednesday, May 21st, 2025, at State House, Nairobi,” Mutua stated.
On Tuesday Ruto met a section of leaders from Ukambani led by CS Mutua at State House.
In a statement, President Ruto noted that the meeting centered on aligning the national government’s development agenda with the needs of the people through continuous engagement with regional leaders and stakeholders.
