A Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NAWASCO) employee was apprehended over allegations of a forged certificate.
The accused, identified as Edwin Amagola Munyeti, appeared before Principal Magistrate Celesa Okore on Tuesday, April 13, 2025.
The court heard that he forged his secondary education certificate to secure employment.
According to the EACC, the accused unlawfully earned nine million in salary payments drawn from public funds between March 2010 and December 2023.

Other charges recommended included fraudulent acquisition of public property, which the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) approved.
During the hearing, Munyeti pleaded not guilty to all charges against him.
He further pleaded for leniency on bond, arguing that he is a family man and is currently unemployed.
The prosecution did not oppose the bail terms, which led to the court to grant the accused a bail of Ksh.200,000 with an alternative bond of Ksh.500,000.
The matter was set to be mentioned on May 26, 2025 in open court for pretrial directions.
