Pastor Mwai made headlines on March 2 after Ruto pledged to donate Ksh.20 million for the church’s construction.

The head of state also  promised a further donation at an upcoming harambee for the facility.

The donation however has sparked a lot of debate among Kenyans.

Many have questioned why the pastor  would allow the President to make a lump sum donation amidst calls for austerity, even threatening to stage a protest at the church.

Furthermore, pastor Mwai has narrated the aftermath of Ruto’s donation, revealing he had to dump his longtime used sim card after receiving over 5000 abusive calls and sms.
